Privacy Policy for Barqly
Last updated: July 29, 2026
Barqly ("the app") is a QR code and barcode generator/scanner for Android. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.
Summary
Barqly does not have a server. It does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data to us or to any third party. Everything the app does happens entirely on your device.
What the app accesses, and why
- Camera — used only while you're on the Scan screen, to read a QR code or barcode in real time. Camera frames are processed on your device to detect a code and are never saved, uploaded, or sent anywhere.
- Photos — used only when you choose to (a) save a code you generated to your gallery, or (b) pick an existing photo so the app can decode a code within it. The app does not access any other photos on your device.
- Codes you generate or scan (e.g. text, URLs, Wi-Fi details, UPI payment details, barcode values) are processed and, if you choose to keep them, stored only in the app's local history on your device. This data is never sent off your device.
- App settings (such as your theme preference) are stored locally on your device using standard Android app storage.
What we do not do
- No account or sign-in is required or offered.
- No advertising or ad tracking.
- No analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
- No data is sold, shared, or transmitted to any third party.
- No backend server — the app has nothing to send your data to, even if it wanted to.
Data deletion
You can delete individual items or clear your entire history at any time from within the app (History screen > Delete). Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data from your device.
Children's privacy
Barqly does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from any user.
